This is the sequel to The Matrix, again starring Keanue Reeves (Point Break, Bill and Ted’s Excellent adventure) as Neo, Laurence Fishburne (Apocalypse Now) as Morpheus, and Carrie Ann Moss (Memento) as Trinity. It was reported Laurence Fishburne signed up to the sequels without reading the scripts.
The directors Andy and Larry Wachowski better known as the Wachowski brothers have reportedly refused to do any interviews about The Matrix or it’s sequels, possibly to continue and preserve it’s cult status.
As with many sequels, there are never as critically acclaimed or well received by the fans as the originals, and this is no exception. That said for cult fan status it was a long wait, with a superb teaser trailer broadcast during the Super Bowl, that had many fans salivating. This sequel did reveal a little bit more about the composition of the real world our protagonists lived in and the Matrix world the frequented.
In this sequel we are introduced to a whole other A.I. living in the Matrix, Persephone played by the beautiful Monica Bellucci (The brothers Grimm) and her husband Merovingian played by Lambert Wilson (The Lazarus Project, Babylon A.D.), and The Oracle was also revealed as another system of control, unfortunately the original actress Gloria Foster who played The Oracle, died soon after completing her scenes.
Morpheus believing a prophecy told to him by the Oracle, that getting Neo to the source will end the war and set them free from the A.I., along with Trinity try to get Neo to the location of the source, battling some nifty Programs along the way, a pair of them having the ability to move through objects and other people (which is plausible as no one in the Matrix is really flesh and bone, but a kind of simulation).
The Wachowski brothers on the few times they did talk about The Matrix, said they always wanted to make a movie that combined their love of Kung-Fu and the Martial Arts with Science Fiction, and The Matrix captures this beautifully.
The interesting thing about the Matrix and it’s sequels is the hidden meanings littered throughout every scene, going back to look at various scenes again, and reading up about it, the hidden religious references combining key aspects of the world’s major religions is quite interesting, from the „Know thyself” writing when Neo first meets The Oracle to his first encounter with The Oracle’s protector Seraph played by Collin Chou (The Forbidden Kingdom, DOA: Dead or Alive) (apparently The Wachowski brothers tried to get Kung-Fu legend and three times Chinese high kick champion Jet Li to play Seraph but he declined indicating he didn’t want people to ignore the storyline and focus that he is in the movie)telling Neo „you never truly know anyone until you fight them”.

It’s a time-tested fact that people trying to exercise away a bad diet are setting themselves up for disappointment. It’s commonly accepted that to get rid of one pound of fat you need to burn about 3500 calories worth of energy. The reverse is also true: to put on one pound of fat you need to consume an additional 3500 calories. When your calories in equal your calories out, you’re in maintenance mode — consuming sufficient energy to maintain your weight given your current activity level.
Doesn’t sound so bad to you? Consider what makes up 300 calories. 45 almonds (2 small handfuls). 2/3 of a single size cheese pizza. A McDonald’s cheeseburger. 2 toasts with butter. 1 cup of uncooked penne pasta (85g). Most of a Starbucks Grande Soy Vanilla latte, half of a Venti Caramel Mocha Frappuccino or 2/3 of one of their blueberry muffins. 22 Ruffles Sour Cream and Onion chips. 16 Tostitos corn chips…without any dip. And to burn that extra 2/3 of a muffin off, a 150 pound person would need to do about 25 minutes of active aerobics, run at 10mph (6 minute mile) for 15 minutes, do 1 hour of moderate gardening, play 35 minutes of tennis or get into the ring for 25 minutes of boxing/sparring. And that’s over and above the exercise you already do to keep your energy equation (calories eaten vs calories burned) in check to maintain your weight. Still sounds ok? Lets look at it a third and final way. Assume that in a given year, you were almost always eating your ‘maintenance’ amount of calories, i.e. the amount of calories you need to maintain your weight given your average activity level and base metabolic rate — what you need just to survive. But twice a week, you’d splurge on the following: 1 extra slice of whole wheat bread, 1 glass of juice or wine and 1 extra teaspoon of oil or butter. Doesn’t sound like much of a splurge does it. But how would that impact your weight? Well, you’d put on over 7 pounds of fat, or 3.25kg. You’d need to add an extra 40+ minutes of high intense aerobic activity every week just to make up for those so- called splurges. And what about the weekend pizza, some guacamole, a few tortillas or cake at a party, etc.
So what does it mean to you? Don’t ignore the fact that what you feed your body makes a huge impact on your body composition and health. Supportive nutrition and exercise go hand in hand in the fitness equation…one of them just isn’t sufficient. And for those who may have been putting on a little weight or not losing it: take a serious look at what you’re doing. A predicate among your ancestors is by no means proof of nobility, and some families have wrongly assumed predicates to make themselves appear to be noble. In some countries the noble families do not have any predicates, but are noble nonetheless. A predicate is an indispensable part of a surname if the surname was originally constructed with it – if it has been assumed later (after the family was ennobled or generally recognised as noble) it is sometimes called a „prefix”.
A surname of a noble ancestor with a predicate or prefix should properly be registered on the first letter of the main name, not on the predicate or prefix. Hence my name, von Wowern, is registered under „W”, not under „v”.
Many noble surnames include words such as „gold-” or „golden”, „silver-”, „sword” or symbols which are used on the family’s coat of arms. Among your ancestors you may also find names constructed from animals („Wolf”, „Lion”) etc. Noble surnames often, but not always, seem unusual and different (which of course was a way to make it stand out).

To update any Apple product, you must have the most up to date version of Apple iTunes. Currently that version is 10.1.2. To double check your iTunes version and/or install the newest iTunes version, go to iTunes on your computer and click „Check for Updates.” You can also go directly to Apple for the latest update.
NOTE: If you haven’t backed up your iPad, it might be wise to do it before installing the new iOS 4.3.
After you have updated iTunes to the most recent version, follow the instructions below to update your iPad to iOS 4.3.
Normal Update Procedures:
1) Open iTunes
2) Connect your iPad to you computer
3) Select your iPad in the Source List.
4) Click „Check for Updates” on the right hand panel.
5) A pop up box will appear. Click „Download and Update”
6) Follow the instructions on the screen.
7) Updating takes anywhere from 10-45 minutes depending on your download speed. The file size for iOS 4.3 is just under 600 mega bytes.

The glitch I always get is at the end of the file when I have update 596.9MB of 596.9MB, I get an error message stat err=-3259. I know it’s not my internet connection since I have a fiber optics internet connection at home, and every download I ever do goes just fine. So for those of you frustrated with Apple’s update through iTunes, here is a tutorial on manually installing the software yourself.
1) Download the iOS 4.3 IPSW file you’re the iPad. The direct download link from Apple is here.
2) Open iTunes on your computer and connect your iPad using the USB cable.
3) Depending on whether you run Windows or have a MAC, follow.
a. Mac – Hold the Option key and then click on the „Check for Update/Update” button.
b. Windows PC – Hold the Shift key and then click on the „Check for Update/Update” button.
4) A Dialog screen will appear prompting you for the location of the IPSW file you downloaded. Find the file in the file browser and select the IPSW file.
5) iTunes will now use the iPSW file and update your iPad to iOS 4.3. This will take approximately 10 minutes.
